Ohana is Hawai’ian for “family,” and at Willamette University, family begins with our Ohana program.

Start your college experience as part of a smaller, intimate group focused on the transitional needs of new multicultural students. Move into your Residence Hall early and take care of the things you will need to do before school begins

Led by current WU students who have successfully integrated into the campus community, Ohana is a time to learn about the area, Willamette, academic life and cultural resources. During Ohana students will also have an opportunity to meet key staff who will provide information regarding financial aid, living in residence halls, health services, and academic support services.

Most important, it is a time to make new friendships in an awesome camp setting! The setting for Ohana’s five-day, five-night retreat is the 4-H Center just west of Salem. In addition to the activities and a T-shirt, your award includes lodging for five nights and all meals. At the 4-H center you will be joined by other first-year students participating in outdoor recreation and community service. The combined programs are called Jump Start
