Dates to Remember

May 2008

Week of May 19

Housing packets mailed to new admits who have paid the $350 advanced deposit.

May 30

Last day for juniors, seniors and graduate students to cancel their housing contract/lease to move off campus without paying the non-negotiable cancellation penalty ($600 for contract; $750 for apartment lease.)

June 2008

By June 13: Housing registration materials are sent to new CLA students.
June 16-July 25: Residence hall assignments are made in payment date order. Roommates are matched as per Housing Preference Cards.
June 14: Apartments close for SOE students at 5 p.m., Saturday, June, 14.

August 2008

By August 8: Residence hall and roommate assignment confirmations are emailed to new students.
August 13: Apartments open for AGSM International students.
August 14-15: AGSM International student orientation.
August 15: Apartments open for SOE residents.
August 16: Early arrival check in for TIUA students and fall athletes begins at 4 PM. (Coaches will confirm date and time.)
August 18: SOE classes begin.
August 19: Apartments open for first year Law and first year AGSM students.
August 20-22: Law orientation.
August 22: Apartments open for returning Law and AGSM students.
August 25: Law and AGSM classes begin.
August 28: Opening Days orientation begins. Residences open for new CLA students at 9 a.m.
August 31: Greek houses, residence halls and apartments open for returning CLA students at 10 a.m.

September 2008

September 1: Labor Day. Campus offices open. First contract meal of the semester is breakfast.
September 2: CLA classes begin.
September 12: Last day to change Meal Plan Points for fall semester.
September 19-21: Homecoming/Reunion Weekend.

October 2008

October 17-19: Parents & Family Weekend.
October 24: Mid-semester day. No CLA classes.

November 2008

November 27-30: Thanksgiving Vacation. Residences remain open. No meals are served after lunch on Wednesday, November 26th until breakfast on Monday, December 1.

December 2008

December 12: Last day of CLA classes.
December 13, 14, 17: CLA Study Days.
December 15: CLA Finals begin. (Check out time is 24 hours after your last final or Sunday noon for Saturday finals.)
December 19: TIUA Closing Ceremonies.
December 20: CLA Finals end. Brunch is the last contract meal of the semester. TIUA class of 2008 leaves.
December 21: Greek houses and residence halls close at noon. University Apartments, Haseldorf and Kaneko Commons apartments remain open to current residents.
December 24-January 2: Willamette University offices are closed.

January 2009

January 12: Law and SOE (tentative) classes begin.
January 13: Sororities open at noon.
January 17: Greek houses and residence halls open at noon. (Residential Services hours: 12 noon to 5 p.m.) The first contract meal of the semester is dinner on Sunday, January 18.
January 18: Registration for entering CLA students. (Residential Services hours: 12 noon to 5 p.m.)
January 19: CLA and AGSM classes begin.
January 19-24: Fraternity and Sorority recruitment.
January 30: Last day to change Meal Plan Points for spring semester.

February 2009

February 1: WU Founder's Day (167 years).
February 9: TIUA class of 2009 arrives.

March 2009

March 21-March 29: Spring Break. Residences remain open. No meals are served after lunch on March 20 until breakfast on Monday, March 30.

April 2009

March 30-April 7: Greek affiliates sign up for a room in their chapter house for 2009-2010.
April 9-13: Students staying in their current residence or requesting Kaneko Commons sign up for a space for 2009-2010.
April 16: Housing Selection Lottery for 2008-09 (for students requesting a different building).
April 20-May 1: Law finals. Check out time is noon the day after your last final.

May 2009

May 2: Apartments close at noon for 1st and 2nd year Law students.
May 5: CLA classes end.
May 6, 7, 10: CLA Study Days.
May 8: CLA finals begin. (Check out time is 24 hours after your last final or Thursday noon for Wednesday for finals.) Returning student housing assignment confirmation emails for 2009-2010 sent out.
May 5-9: AGSM finals.
May 13: CLA finals end. Lunch is the last contract meal of the semester.
May 14: Greek houses, residence halls and apartments (CLA lease) close at noon.
May 10: Apartments close at noon for 1st year AGSM students.
May 17: Commencement.
May 18: CLA, Law and AGSM Graduates check out by noon.

June 2009

June 13: Apartments close at 5 pm for SOE students.
