- When notified of a potential threat, all officers respond; other agencies are contacted immediately as required. Academic buildings can be locked down by computer (residence halls are locked 24/7). Students and staff are still able to card into locked buildings for protection.
- When there is a campus emergency, the University will send a message via the Blackboard Connect-Ed emergency notification program to registered staff and student phones and email accounts. Student and staff WU email accounts will be enrolled automatically. Students are required to provide one local phone number, preferably a cell phone number, for enrollment. Additional email and/or phone numbers may be added by clicking here, then enter your email login and password.
- When a building must be evacuated, trained Building Captains (wearing bright yellow/green vests) will respond to assist with the evacuation or other safety actions.
