Welcome
Welcome! Here you will find some resources to help answer your questions about writing recommendation letters for competitive national scholarships: general advice about what selection committees are looking for, tips for writing recommendations for particular programs, and samples of letters written for successful applications by your colleagues here at Willamette.
Additional resources are available in the Office of Student Academic Grants and Awards: published guides for writing letters, and additional sample letters from other institutions. I am always available to discuss your concerns or questions about program requirements, shaping your letter, or the submission process. I am delighted to give feedback on drafts, watch for typos, and help you find your way through the intricacies of electronic submissions. Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.
