General Funding for Undergraduates

A. Patrick Charnon Memorial Scholarship
Full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a four-year college in the U.S. Each scholarship carries a stipend of $1,500 per academic year. Recipients may re-apply each year for up to four years, provided they continue to meet the requirements of the award. Applications accepted January 15 - August 1.

All-USA College Academic Team
Recognition program for exceptional full-time undergraduates at four-year institutions in the USA and its territories.

Carpe Diem Foundation Scholarships
The Carpe Diem Foundation awards scholarships to students "who have demonstrated outstanding achievements, exceptional leadership ability and a serious commitment to community service."

Daughters of the Confederacy
The United Daughters of the Confederacy gives scholarships to undergraduates and graduate students who are the lineal descendant of an eligible Confederate (that is, one who served honorably in the Confederate Army, Navy, or Civil Service or who gave Material Aid to the Cause). An applicant who is a collateral descendant must be a member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Olive W. Garvey Fellowships
Biennial award to outstanding college students around the world through a competitive essay contest on the meaning and significance of economic and personal liberty. Awards range from $1,000 - $2,500.

Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund
For undergraduate and graduate students of Greek descent, between the ages of 17 and 25.

Humane Studies Fellowships
For undergraduate and graduate students interested in the classical liberal/libertarian tradition of individual rights and market economies. More than 100 fellowships up to $12,000 are awarded annually.

Josephine de Karman Scholarships
$16,000 (for graduate) or $8,000 (for undergraduate) scholarship to support either the senior year of study for undergraduates or for PhD candidates with ABD status.

Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowships
The program offers scholarships through the Woodrow Wilson Foundation for college sophomores interested in careers in foreign service. The fellowships include tuition and fees, stipend, books, one round-trip travel during the junior and senior years of college, paid State Department summer internships in Washington D.C. and overseas, and fellowship support for master's degrees in international affairs.

National Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund was founded in 1975 to help Hispanic-American college students complete their education. The scholarships are available on a competitive basis for community college, four-year college, and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Awards generally range from $1000 to $3,000. To be eligible you must: be of Hispanic heritage (one parent must be fully Hispanic or both parents must be half Hispanic); be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident; have earned at least 15 undergraduate college credits in the U.S. or Puerto Rico with a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale; attend an accredited U.S. college full-time

The Roothbert Fund Scholarship Program
Approximately 20 ($2,000-$3,000) awards are offered to students in the U.S. in need of financial aid to further their education at the undergraduate or graduate level. Deadline: early February.

Swiss Benevolent Society of New York Scholarships
Merit based awards for study at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels both in the U.S. and abroad. Deadline: March.

Talbot's Women's Scholarship
Talbots Charitable Foundation offers up to five $10,000 and 50 $1,000 scholarships for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago, and who are now seeking a a bachelor's degree from a four-year college of university.
Qualifications: Resident in the United States, Earned a high school diploma or GED on or before September 1994, Have not previously earned and bachelor's degree, Enrolled or planning to enroll in a full- or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school, Attending the full 2004-05 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May , Having at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete an undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the fall academic term. Only the first 1,000 eligible applications received will be processed

Target All-Around Scholarships
Target awards scholarships to undergraduates aged twenty-four or younger, who have outstanding records in academics and community service.

USA Today College Academic Team
USA TODAY seeks outstanding undergraduates across the country. Sixty students are named yearly to the First, Second and Third Teams of the All-USA Academic Team. The 20 members of the First Team each will receive a trophy and a $2,500 cash award.The criteria are designed to find students who excel not only in scholarship but also in leadership roles on and off campus. A key element given most weight by the judges will be a student's outstanding original academic or intellectual product. Any full-time undergraduate of a four-year institution in the United States or its territories is eligible. U.S. citizenship is not required. Students in five-year programs who have not received a baccalaureate are eligible.
