USA TODAY annually honors students who are outstanding students. Each "team" consists of 20 students who demonstrate excellence and are nominated. Criteria include: grades, leadership, academic rigor, activities, and an essay describing the applicant's most outstanding intellectual project in college.

Nominations open September and are due late November.
