Awesome Academic Adventures
Four one-week sessions of fun, hands-on learning and activities for students entering grades 2-8. Weekly themes allow for integrated curriculum. Classes take place in Willamette University's state of the art facilities. Passionate certified teachers design lessons and instruct small classes of students grouped by grade. Willamette University faculty and area professionals are invited guest speakers and share their excitement and expertise.
July 6 - 10 SPACE - The final frontier. Explore the universe beyond Earth's atmosphere or ... to infinity and beyond without leaving Willamette University
July 13- 17 SPORTS - Throw me a curve. Investigate the science and math behind competitive sports. Many people play games and sports, come learn what the best players know.
July 20 -24 TRANSPORTATION AND PROPULSION Where we go and how we move. From feet and wheels and jets to transport humans to wires and satellites to transport ideas, this week will have our minds traveling.
July 27 -31 IS IT ALIVE? From animals and plants, to crystals and the atmosphere, what is alive? What makes it alive?
All new themes this year! Look for new teachers, new curriculum and new guest speakers as we delve into science, math, humanities and anthropology as it relates to the theme.
