ART BY THE PARK

July 13-16, 2010

CONGRATULATIONS to

 Jason K., Deborah M. and Rachel P.,

for winning Certificates for a free Art Class at the Art by the Park Workshop!

Their names were entered at the Mid Willamette Valley Travel Show

held at the Lancaster Mall on June 18, 2010

ART BY THE PARK is a residential workshop for adults.  It is held on the Willamette University campus and offers the option of overnight accommodations.  The workshop is made up of a selection of art classes taught by regional artists.  Willamette's own on campus caterer, Bon Appétit, will provide meals for guests (optional), as well as presenting their own class The Art of Cooking.

The participants will have opportunities to visit the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, tour and enjoy the beautiful gardens at Willamette University, and explore the downtown area of Salem.  The July workshop dates allow participants to continue their art adventure by visiting the Salem Art Association's Annual SALEM ART FAIR AND FESTIVAL, located only blocks away at Bush Pasture Park.

One of our instructors, Ann Altman, will also be one of the artists displaying her work at the annual SALEM ART FAIR AND FESTIVAL.  Be sure to look her up when you visit the Art Fair!

Another unique opportunity that will be offered is the American Association of University Women's (AAUW) Annual MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S MUSICALE on Wednesday, July 14, 2010.  The Musicale consists of a gourmet dinner on the banks of the Mill Creek (on Willamette's Campus) with a Concert in Rogers Music Center.  This year the Concert will feature Misty River.  Cost for Gourmet picnic & Concert is $32.00, Concert only is $20.00.

Participants in the workshop will be able to select a single class (3 hour session) or can choose up to 6 different classes over the course of the workshop.  We will also have an open lab for individuals to be able to work on their projects.
