1. What should I do if I find a problem with a page?
Each page published from WebEdit has a link to “Report a Problem With a Page.” Please complete the form and we will work to correct the problem as soon as we can.
[back to top]2. What if one of the pages on my site got missed in the conversion process?
Thanks to our colleagues in WITS, the new web server has been configured to look for a page on the “old” web server if it cannot find it on the new web server. In that way, any pages that might not have been converted will still be reachable.
[back to top]3. Will I still be able to reach my old website?
Yes. Again, thanks to the handiwork of WITS, the pre-WebEdit sites will be available directly via the following url: www-old.willamette.edu/path to your site. Also, on each of the CLA academic department sites we have included a link to the department’s pre-WebEdit site.
[back to top]4. How can I find out if my website has been converted into WebEdit?
A complete list of the sites now being published from WebEdit will be available on the Web Development website Friday (3/28) morning. That list will be updated each Friday until the conversion process is complete.
[back to top]5. How long will my pre-WebEdit website remain on a web server?
We currently expect that all pre-WebEdit sites will remain available until late May or early June.
[back to top]6. Once my site has been published using WebEdit, will I be able to edit or update as I have in the past?
No. Once your site has been published in WebEdit it can only be updated using WebEdit.
[back to top]7. What if I haven’t attended a training session yet?
You are in luck because we will begin to offer training again the week of April 7th. Look for details to appear next week on the Web Development website.
[back to top]8. What if I would prefer a different image on my website than the one(s) you used in the conversion process?
In order to accomplish the conversion process in a reasonable time frame, we were not able to confer with everyone about the images we used in the headers of the converted sites. Therefore, we would be glad to talk to you about your ideas for different images and/or photos to use on your site at your convenience.
[back to top]9. How do I get in touch with the Web Development team about my ideas for enhancing my website?
Send us an email or stop by our office on the 4th floor of Waller Hall.
[back to top]10. Where do I find the WebEdit Page Tree?
On the left side of the page, there is a little red arrow on a button. Clicking that arrow button will expand the page tree. See example here.
