Salem Area Attractions

Immediately north of the Phoenix Grand Hotel and within easy walking distance of campus is Salem's historic downtown. Cultural highlights are the Historic Elsinore Theater, the Hallie Ford Museum of Art and the Mission Mill Museum. The Oregon State Capitol, located just north of the Willamette campus, is also open to visitors.

Two shopping malls are located in the downtown area: the Reed Opera House and Salem Center. For book lovers, the Book Bin, Jackson's Books and The Book Habit are sure to satisfy any literary appetite.

Bush Park and Bush Barn Art Center are located two blocks south of campus, and the Historic Deepwood Estate, located on the east border of Bush Park, offers daily tours. Several wineries and the beautiful Silver Falls State Park are within a 25-mile radius of downtown.
