1. Commencement Ceremony Policies and Procedures

Candidates for graduation must submit a "petition for degree" at the beginning of their final semester in the program. It is the student's responsibility to be certain that he or she has completed all graduation requirements and is in good standing within the policies of the Atkinson School and Willamette University. Graduation requirements are listed in the Academic Regulations section of the handbook.

Students who have questions about participating in the Commencement Ceremony should contact the Atkinson School Recorder, Karen Arthur, or the Associate Dean, Judy O'Neill.

9. Where can I get a nice photo of my graduate?

During Commencement, we ask that family members do not approach the stage to take pictures. The University has contracted with professional photographers to take photos of all graduates as they receive their diplomas. Prior to Commencement, a staff member from John Dutton Photography will have the graduate fill out a form with pertinent information. Following Commencement, orders for these photos may be placed online directly with the photographer, John Dutton.
