Master of Arts in Teaching Programs
Students earn their teaching license and master’s degree in our MAT program. Offered full-time, part-time or online, the MAT degree program prepares pre-school through high school teachers. In most cases, students will qualify for two teaching levels upon completion of either program.
- Early childhood authorization: age 3 through grade 4
- Elementary authorization: grades 3-8
- Middle level authorization: grades 5-9
- High school authorization: grades 7-12

For educators interested in earning their Master’s degree. This inquiry-based program personalizes coursework and addresses specific areas of teaching interest. Offered in two formats, hybrid and on-campus, students have a choice in which endorsement or seminar series to incorporate with the master’s coursework. Options include:
The Willamette Graduate School of Education offers two administrator license programs. Our programs prepare educational leaders to respond positively, creatively and proactively to: the increasing demands for school and/or district achievement; an increasingly diverse population; a greater reliance on technology; and a commitment to learning, research and ethical administrative practice. The Initial Administrator License Program can ready you to fully enter the dynamic arena of school administration. Our advanced, or Continuing Administrator License Program can significantly enhance your career in educational administration and also paves the way for you to pursue superintendent licensure.
The Willamette Graduate School of Education offers three TSPC-approved speciality endorsement programs: English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Reading, and Special Education. These programs are intended for licensed teachers with or without a master's degree interested in adding on to their teaching license. Courses in the ESOL and Reading endorsement are offered online and the Special Education endorsement courses are offered in a traditional face-to-face setting. Because these programs offer online classes, rolling enrollment and are non-cohort based, they are ideal for anyone requiring a flexible academic schedule.
