Alum receives Fulbright Teaching Exchange GrantNicole Smith (BS '99, MAT '00) has been awarded the Fulbright Teaching Exchange Grant for 2011-2012. Nicole has been teaching been teaching in the Tigard-Tualatin School District for the last 11 years. Congratulations Nicole!

McNary High School has a new Theatre Department Head - from Willamette!
Dallas Myers MAT '10 is in the news again. McNary has just announced that Dallas will be taking over the Theatre Department next year.


Alumna saves the world one baby at a timeSure, Superman can save the planet on a regular basis, but Willamette University alumna Joy Hatch MAT'97 is teaching people how to save money, raise babies and save the planet all at the same time.


Alumnus honored for creative teaching techniques in demanding subjectJason Niedermeyer '01, MAT '05 recently received the 2010 National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) Evolution Education Award.

Friends and Alumni of the Graduate School of Education nominated and WIN Crystal Apple Award!
The Graduate School of Education would like to congratulate three of the nominees and winners. Lauren Stephenson (Class of 2000) and David Whetzel (Class of 1996) were nominated for a Crystal Apple Award this year. Lauren is a teacher at Whiteaker Middle School in Keizer, OR and David is a teacher at Gubser Elementary School also in Keizer.
