Teaching Strengths
- Mission statement: I vow to dedicate myself to the heart of the teaching profession, nurturing and encouraging my students. I will never cease the cycle of learning within myself, so that through example I may be able to spark a love of learning within my students. I will value and respect my students, fortifying their self-esteem and self-worth in each interaction. As my students grow older, I would like to be the teacher who remains in their memories, as the one who cared as well as the one who touched their minds.
- I am passionate about my subject areas and I engage my students with my excitement fueling their desire for learning the content.
- I implement my knowledge of technology into my classroom activities in order to achieve my learning goals and to bring a different level of literacy to my students.
- I approach my lessons creatively in order to reach a variety of learners and fill their academic needs.
- I bring relevancy to the content for the students by incorporating what they experience of media, their own cultures as well as other experiences they have had in their lives.
- I develop meaningful academic relationships with each of my students, encouraging each student to achieve his or her personal best and to embrace pride in his or her work.
- I am the teacher who is inspired and who also inspires her students.
- I am student-centered with a focus on making sure my students develop a solid foundation in my content areas, while differentiating for the different styles of learning, multiple intelligences, language differences and other needs my students may have.
