EDUC 581 Inquiry into Educational Practice I (2)

Candidates define what it means to have an inquiry stance in teaching and to use that approach to strengthen their understanding of how students learn.  Course explores the value of professional learning communities and their impact on teaching and learning, and uses critical observation, journaling, and other forms of data to analyze and promote effective, challenging, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.  Combines the practice of reflection and group problem- solving with field-based teacher inquiry to improve classroom instruction and student achievement. (Middle/High Program)
