Dr. Steve Rhine engaged in teaching, writing, and speaking
Dr. Steve Rhine has many passions, including mathematics and math education. Recent scholarship includes authorship of the chapter "Encouraging In-class Participation in a Web 2.0 World" in C. Wankel (Ed.) Educating Educators with Social Media (301-323). Bingley, UK: Emerald Insight Publishing, to be released in early 2011.
Dr. Rhine also recently presented A Technological Solution to the Algebra Dilemma (2010) at Ubiquitous Learning: An International Conference, Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In addition to academic scholarship, Steve shares a love of travel-as-learning with his family. An Excellent Teacher, co-authored by Steve and his wife Toby, is an engaging, humorous and moving account about how the Rhines "unplugged" for 8 months to travel around the world on a shoe string.
