Willamette Collaborates with Other Universities

The Graduate School of Education is engaged in collaborative research on clinical practice in teacher education with Salem-Keizer schools, Western Oregon University, and CorbanUniversity through an ongoing partnership and a newly awarded Chalkboard grant. Through this collaborative, we seek to enhance teacher preparation across the Willamette Valley, providing our candidates with high-quality experiences and innovative preparation to be ready to teach in today’s schools.

The GSE maintains partnership agreements with 58 Oregon districts, allowing our candidates to learn from mentors in many schools. Among these partnerships, the GSE is proud to partner with several Salem-Keizer schools, including McKay HS, Stephens MS, and the newly opened Chavez ES. Chavez is an innovative, lab-school design, created with teacher preparation and ongoing professional development as its purpose and focus. This video highlights Chavez and it’s benefits to teachers-in-training, like our GSE candidates.
