Teaching and Writing in the K-12 Classroom

School Work

This 1 semester credit graduate level course aims to support teachers in the improvement of student writing and the use of writing to learn across the curriculum. Facilitated by qualified Teacher Consultants from the Oregon Writing Project at Willamette University, this program provides high quality professional development for teachers through a "teachers teaching teachers" model that focuses on inquiry into best practices. Participants will be engaged in exploring and adapting exemplary teaching practices for their classroom, as well as writing and talking with experienced writing teachers.

Teachers can join on-going sessions as available.  Schools and districts may arrange on-site programs according to their needs, size, and resources.
