Some of this faculty member's accomplishments include:

• 2011 recipient of the Outstanding Science Educator award by the Association Science Teacher Education
• Published more than 40 articles and book chapters, has edited four books, and has delivered over 100 presentations at national and international meetings
• J. Lawrence Walkup Distinguished Professor of Science Education at Northern Arizona University
• Co-Director of NAUTeach, a replication of the highly successful science and mathematics teacher certification program developed at the University of Texas-Austin
• Past-president of the Association for Science Teacher Education
• Former editor of the Science Teacher Education section of Science Education
• Past board member for the National Association for Research in Science Teaching
