Continuing Administrator License 

Successful completion of an Initial Administrator License program and a master’s degree are required prior to program entrance. See admission requirements for more information on admission to this program.

All courses for this program will be held in the Graduate School of Education (GSE) unless otherwise indicated. The GSE is located on the corner of Cottage and Ferry streets in downtown Salem, Oregon. See maps and directions. All programs and courses are approved by TSPC, and all courses depend on minimum enrollments.

After submitting your registration form, you will be formally enrolled into the selected courses.  You will be contacted to receive the following information (if you have not submitted it already):
  • Application for program
  • Official transcripts
  • Professional resume
  • Criminal Background forms
  • Code of Conduct agreement 
You will receive payment information from the University Student Accounts Office.
Add/Drop and Withdrawal Policy:  The add/drop deadline is one week after the first day of class.  The withdrawal deadline with a 'W' grade reported is no later than 60% of the way through the class.

EDAD 531 Research, Evaluation and Goal Setting (2)

Understanding of qualitative and quantitative interpretation of educational research, with emphasis on conducting action research in the classroom. Assessment skills, evaluation techniques and discussion of current trends in research will be highlighted. Avenues for goal setting such as portfolio development, task building and rubric design will be included.

    Examines intra/inter-personal communication processes with staff, parents, students and community in today's educational environment. Exploring the causes of conflict, candidates will consider resolution strategies for working with all parties and build a strong personal skill set to promote a positive school climate.

      Designed to help the administrator understand the need for a comprehensive communication with all agencies and personnel at the state level. This experience introduces students to the ODE, ESD, School Board Association and COSA, and emphasizes the legislative process including levy elections, ballot measures, and legislative or congressional issues.

      Interacting with individuals at the national, state and local level of school administration will be the emphasis of this experience. Students will attend conferences, professional meetings and association projects and create a system for accessing expertise at the state and national level.
