Specialty Area Overview

In addition to the MEd core courses, all students must select a specialty area to complete the degree requirements.  Classes for the specialty area will fit around the MEd core sequence.  Students may start the these classes at any point during the core sequence, but must complete all required credits for the Master of Education degree. 

The following programs are options for the MEd specialty area requirement:

• ESOL endorsement
• Reading endorsement
• Special Education endorsement
• Administrator License
• Certificate in the Teaching of Writing - only available for students through the Oregon Writing Project Summer Institute program
