Editorial Policies at Willamette University College of Law

Editorial policies are developed and reviewed regularly to ensure a fair assessment of information provided to Willamette Law from its alumni, students, faculty and staff, or outside agencies representing these contributors.

Willamette University College of Law works to develop engaging, accurate stories about students, alumni, faculty, and staff to share with prospective students, current students, alumni, employers, faculty and staff.

Editorial Goal

The ultimate goal of our website, enewsletters and magazine is to share both general and specific information that supports and exemplifies the quality of legal education received at Willamette Law.

More to the story

Editors of various college website newsfeeds and enewsletters publish information at their discretion depending upon subject matter, space available, and editorial goals for the given period of publication. There is no regular editorial schedule or calendar. The types of stories featured in publications may change from year to year based upon a balance of available information, trends, or specific marketing/promotional goals of the law school and the university.

"Best of" listings

Each year, there are multiple alumni recognition lists produced by various magazines and websites. Willamette University College of Law may highlight alumni recognition if the award or list meets the following criteria:

  1. Lawyers on the list are nominated by peers
  2. The list is juried and then voted on by peers
  3. The list highlights 100 attorneys or less

Other notable stories or alumni recognition lists may be featured at the discretion of Willamette University and/or the College of Law.
