The Moot Court Board is made up of second-and third-year students. At the end of each school year, first- and second-year students in good academic standing are eligible to apply for membership to the Moot Court Board. Part-time program students are not eligible to participate in co-curricular activities unless they have completed 31 credits.

New members are selected based on a combination of factors including prowess in the First Year Appellate Competition (FYAC), an anonymously written application, an in-person interview with the Executive Board, and volunteer points.

Although first-year students can not join Moot Court as board members, they are encouraged to learn about the program by volunteering as bailiffs, witnesses, greeters, and jurors during on-campus competitions held throughout the school year. Prospective members may also attend some of the seminars and networking events hosted by Moot Court.

You can read more about the requirements for applicants, board members, and academic credit in the Law School’s Handbook and in the Moot Court Bylaws.

If you have other questions about the Moot Court program, please contact an Executive Board Member.
