| Willamette Law Online is proud to offer its popular service focusing on the Conflict of Laws. This service surveys all American federal and state cases that discuss in any significant way the choice-of-law question. The author of this service is Dean Symeon Symeonides, who, for sixteen of the last twenty years, has conducted a similar survey for the Association of American Law Schools' Section on Conflict of Laws. In a Resolution of Appreciation awarded to Dean Symeonides, the AALS Section on Conflict of Laws characterized these surveys as "enormously informative and influential" and "extraordinarily helpful to the members of the Section, other academics, the Bench and the practicing bar." Dean Symeonides was
awarded the first Friedrich K. Juenger Prize in Private International
Law for his article, "Choice
of Law in the American Courts in 2000: As the Century Turns,"
published
in the American Journal of Comparative Law. The prize was
established in 2001 by the American Society of Comparative Law in honor
of its late former president, Juenger, a long-time professor at the University
of California and one of the top private international law scholars in
the world. Jenny Lillge, Editor |
