I am originally from New York - born and raised. Before you ask - not New York City. Upstate NY. With the cows. And Catskill Mountains.
I started my career as a journalist. Eventually I transitioned into digital marketing byway of search engine optimization - a discipline that merged well with my writing ability.
I built my career on both the agency and brand side by picking up experience in nearly every digital aspect of marketing. I found my way into higher education with Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, as Director of Digital Marketing for their online learning unit, eCornell. And, after deciding with my partner, Lori, that the warmer (and, frankly, way better) coast was calling, we decided to move to the Pacific Northwest and figure it all out when we got there. Along the way, I learned of a position with Willamette's Atkinson Graduate School of Management.
And here we are.
I couldn't ask for a more interesting role. I get to balance art with science, data with design, and performance with passion. My colleagues are a dedicated, driven group of folks who care for students from initial inquiry to commencement (and beyond). The faculty here are genuine, accessible human beings who work tirelessly to make the investment of earning an MBA worth every penny. And the students are some of the brightest and inspirational folks I've met.
I am a student myself, currently enrolled in the MBA for Professionals program.
I live in the Salem area with my partner, daughter, dog, and two cats. Three of that group like me a lot. Two of them rarely acknowledge my existence. I'll let you guess who's who.
There are a few things I nerd out pretty hard for - LinkedIn; an empty Excel spreadsheet; certain podcasts; working from a coffee shop for the day; nature; The Decemberists; and keeping a super messy office.
Oh, I was on an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia once. I'll tell you what episode if you ask.
