Biography
Steve Anderson is joining the contributing faculty of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management in the Spring of 2015. Steve is the Vice President and Service Line Executive for the North America, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Service Line of Avanade Inc. Avanade is a global systems integration and managed services consultancy, focused on the Microsoft platform. It was founded in 2000 as a joint venture between Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and the Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT). Avanade remains privately held, is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, and employs over 24,000 consultants, with annual revenues of approximately US$2 billion, globally. At present, Avanade serves more than 4,000 customers in 70 offices and 20 countries.
A long-time veteran of Avanade, Steve has served in a number of leadership roles since first joining Avanade in August 2000 – shortly after the founding of the company. He initially started as a program manager in the United States West Region, and quickly assumed responsibility for Avanade's U.S. State and Local Government portfolio. In 2004, Steve took on responsibility for all of Avanade sales and marketing in the western United States. In 2011, he transitioned to Avanade's ERP service line and became the lead for Microsoft Dynamics AX sales and market development for North America. For the past year, he has led Avanade's overall North America ERP sales, delivery, and capability management.
Before joining Avanade, Steve spent five years at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), most recently as a project manager and ERP consultant in the firm’s public sector practice. He also served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps as a staff sergeant and combat engineer, and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm/Shield. Immediately following his discharge from the Marine Corps, he earned his Master of Management (M.M.) degree from Willamette's University Atkinson Graduate School of Management, having previously earned his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Willamette University's College of Arts & Sciences.
