Paul Lande has extensive academic, private sector, and federal government experience.
At the Economic Development Administration in the US Department of Commerce he managed the development of the Area Eligibility System & Criteria as part of the 1979 reauthorization of the Agency. At Data Resources, Inc. (DRI, now Global Insight), an international consulting and economic forecasting firm, as Director of the Construction and Real Estate Information Service, he managed national and regional construction forecasting models and services. At Blount, Inc., an international construction and manufacturing conglomerate, he was Director-Planning, Economics and Corporate Development where he managed business unit and corporate strategic planning and corporate development. As Senior Fellow, at the Johns Hopkins University Institute for Policy Studies, he taught graduate level quantitative methods and conducted research in the field of urban and regional economic development policy. He founded and operated his own business for ten years.
He has published articles in various journals including the Journal of Regional Science, Regional Science and Urban Economics and Regional Science Perspectives, and Regional Dimensions of Industrial Policy (with Michael Bell), Lexington Books. |
