Oregon Ethics in Business Awards - Finalists Announced

-----

Since 2004, the Willamette University MBA program has served as a founding member of the Oregon Ethics in Business (OEIB) program.  The OEIB Awards honor those organizations and individuals who have demonstrated ethical business practice in its broadest interpretation: in the workplace, the marketplace, the environment, and the community. The recipients of these awards will have, by act and example, gone beyond the expected to achieve excellence in ethical business practices.

As part of the selection process, MBA students from Willamette research nominees for the OEIB program and prepare detailed reports for the selection committee on how the organizations and individuals represent the spirit of the program.  Students often have the opportunity to meet with upper level managers in organizations, review financial information and talk to employees about the commitment and scope of the organization’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

From 23 nominations, the selection committee has announced the 9 finalists:

Business:
The Collins Companies
Wildish Company

Not-For-Profit:
Camp Fire Columbia
Medical Teams International
Next Step Recycling
Northwest Family Services

Individual:
Graham Covington
Kathy Moeller
George Rode

Winners will be announced during the 2012 Oregon Ethics in Business Awards Banquet, June 13, 2012 in Portland.  This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Max Williams, CEO and President of The Oregon Community Foundation.
