Vincent Chiappetta has worked on a number of high-tech and e-commerce legislative issues—as chair of the Oregon Internet Commission and as a member of both the Oregon Higher Education Technology Transfer Board and the Oregon Bar Computer and Electronic Information workgroup. Chiappetta teaches intellectual property, antitrust, business lawyering and science, and technology and law. In 2003 he was named a Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction trademark fellow. He has extensive practice experience, having served as vice president and general counsel for Tektronix Inc., associate general counsel (Trademarks) for Levi Strauss & Co. and associate general counsel (Europe, Africa, Middle East) for Apple Computer Inc.

James A.R. Nafziger teaches and writes extensively in the fields of international law, international business transactions, immigration and refugee law, comparative law, international litigation, and conflict of laws. He is chair of the executive committee of the American Branch of the International Law Association and has served on the executive council and executive committee of the American Society of International Law. Nafziger is a member of the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Law, is president of the International Association of Sports Law, and sits on the National Council of the United Nations Association.

A widely sought speaker and panelist, Robin Morris Collin was the first law professor to teach sustainability at an American law school. Morris Collin came to Willamette in 2003 after a distinguished 10-year career as a tenured member of the faculty at the University of Oregon School of Law. She began her teaching career in 1984 at Tulane Law School and has taught at Pepperdine University School of Law, McGeorge Law School at the University of the Pacific, and Washington and Lee Law School. She also practiced administrative law at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C., criminal law as an assistant county attorney in Maricopa County, Ariz., and private plaintiffs’ antitrust law at Reed, Goldstein and Jenkins-Reed in Phoenix.

A world-renowned expert in international and comparative law and conflict of laws, Dean Symeonides is a life member of the International Academy of Comparative Law, vice president and former secretary of the American Society of Comparative Law, former chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Conflict of Laws, and a member of the Order of the Coif, the American Law Institute, the Oregon Law Commission, and the Bartolus Society. Dean Symeonides has been active in law reform, both in the United States and abroad, and provided legislative advice to the European Union Parliament and the numerous foreign governments. His teaching subjects include Conflict of Laws, Comparative Law, International Litigation and Property.
