An expert in federal and state public law, Professor Diller joined the Willamette law faculty in 2005. He teaches Property, State and Local Government Law, and Real Estate Transactions. His scholarly interests also include constitutional and education law. Diller received his law degree from the University of Michigan, where he was articles editor of the Michigan Law Review. Following graduation, Diller served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia. He then worked for three years as an attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he represented the United States in litigation involving constitutional, administrative and international law.

Valerie J. Vollmar is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on physician-assisted death. She has been widely interviewed by the media, including National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” and “Talk of the Nation” from Washington, D.C. Professor Vollmar is an Academic Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, was founding chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Elder Law Section, is former chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Estate Planning and Administration section, and served as co-chair of a committee whose work led to adoption of the Oregon Uniform Trust Code in 2005. She received the Oregon State Bar President’s Membership Service Award in both 1989 and 2005. Vollmar joined Willamette University’s College of Law in 1984.

Vincent Chiappetta has worked on a number of high-tech and e-commerce legislative issues—as chair of the Oregon Internet Commission and as a member of both the Oregon Higher Education Technology Transfer Board and the Oregon Bar Computer and Electronic Information workgroup. Chiappetta teaches intellectual property, antitrust, business lawyering and science, and technology and law. In 2003 he was named a Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction trademark fellow. He has extensive practice experience, having served as vice president and general counsel for Tektronix Inc., associate general counsel (Trademarks) for Levi Strauss & Co. and associate general counsel (Europe, Africa, Middle East) for Apple Computer Inc.
