Welcome to the Simulation Bank

Our simulation bank is a resource for anyone who teaches or trains in the areas of negotiation, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution. It is perfect for teachers of law and business, or anyone else whose students aspire to be problem solvers.

An academic membership costs $75 per year - this membership is currently open only to persons teaching at an institution of higher education

Once you are a member, you are entitled to download and use any of our simulation materials with as many students or workshop participants as you like for the twelve months of your membership. There is no additional fee per student and no additional fee per simulation.

We currently have 90 simulations in our bank. Most are simple negotiation and mediation exercises involving two disputing parties, and are intended to take from 30-120 minutes to negotiate. Many are more complex. The range of substantive areas is broad - from contracts to environmental disputes to divorce and beyond. Every simulation has been tested, edited and updated; all should run problem-free.

The simulations are "camera-ready" and include teaching notes that instruct you on how to prepare materials, how to introduce the simulation, and how to debrief the class after the simulation. In addition, we include notes on how long it takes (on average) for each phase of the simulation. Click on "Sample Simulation" above to see an example.

To join, visit our subscription form and fill in all fields. Your email address and a chosen password will be used to log in. Then you will need to send a check or money order to WILLAMETTE CENTER FOR DISPUTE RESOLUTION, 245 Winter St. SE, Salem, OR 97301. Also, you must send us a letter on your institution's letterhead so that we may ensure that no students or workshop participants obtain information that would give them an unfair advantage in their role-playing.

Once we receive your payment and letter, we will send you an email informing you that your account is active. You will be able to log in with your email address and the chosen password you submitted then start downloading simulations.

That's all there is to it!
