Student Wins First Prize in Music Competition
Andrea Weiss '13 recently won first prize in the age 18 and younger division of the Washington-Idaho Symphony Young Artists Competition.
Weiss, a harpist who is majoring in chemistry and music, will perform Debussy's "Danses Sacree et Profane" with the orchestra Jan. 30-31. The orchestra is based in the area of Pullman, Wash., and Moscow, Idaho.
She will perform the same piece April 21 with the Willamette University Chamber Orchestra as a winner of the 2009 Willamette Concerto/Aria Competition.
