Army 2nd Lt. Kyle Soler '05, a Willamette alumnus who has deployed multiple times to Iraq, recently received the Patterson Award honoring the most distinguished Officer Candidate School graduate from the Infantry Branch.

Soler majored in history at Willamette and is currently assigned to the 1st Squad, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Brigade Combat Team in Schweinfurt, Germany.

He recently received his award in Fort Benning, Georgia.
