Proceeds from Willamette cellist’s local CD sales to support music scholarships
Cellist-conductor and Willamette professor Hekun Wu's CD, "The Tao of Bach - Bach Six Solo Suites for Unaccompanied Cello" has been released by MSR Classics and is available for purchase online or at The Willamette Store.
Proceeds from Wu's CD sales at The Willamette Store will support scholarships for studio cello and university orchestral programs.
According to Wu, Bach's ‘Six Solo Suites for Unaccompanied Cello' are often considered the gold standard for cellists.
The Boston Globe has called Wu's work "bold and very full of conviction, unusually supple and beautiful," and China Times has praised his "virtuosic technique with thoughtful and poetic expressivity."
