Flutist presents classes and recital at Willamette

On Jan. 23 at Willamette University's Rogers Music Center, renowned flutist Jill Felber will present a full-day seminar, including a master class, technique classes and workshops on guided meditation, breathing and yoga for performers. A recital follows at 7 p.m., during which pianist Dianne Frazer will join Felber. They will perform works by Doppler, Reinecke, Godard, Zyman and Rutter.

This event is co-sponsored by the Grace Goudy Distinguished Artists Series and the Greater Portland Flute Society. Non-flutists are encouraged to attend.

Currently a professor at University of California Santa Barbara, Felber is also principal flute with Opera Santa Barbara. With degrees from University of Michigan and Bowling Green State University, she has taught at Ohio University, Capital University and Wright State University.


General admission tickets for the 7 p.m. recital are $15, with discounts at the door for members of the Greater Portland Flute Society and Willamette University students. Workshop and master class tickets are $35 and will be sold at the door only. Full day passes are available for $40 with discounts for members and students.
