Kiplinger's lists Willamette as one of the best value colleges in the nation

by University Communications,

Willamette University is ranked 86th in the nation for best value among private liberal arts colleges, according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.

For its report, Kiplinger's narrowed a list of 1,200 private and public four-year schools based on outstanding quality and affordability — with quality accounting for 55 percent of the total assessment.

Kiplinger’s considered such criteria as average student debt, standardized test scores, student-to-faculty ratio, graduate rate and net price — the cost after factoring in need- and merit-based financial aid, excluding loans.

For 2015, for the first time, Kiplinger's included a combined list of the 300 best values in private liberal arts colleges, private universities and public colleges.

Earlier this year, Willamette University was featured in The Princeton Review’s “The Best 379 Colleges,” Forbes’ “America’s Top Colleges” and the Fiske “Guide to Colleges.”
