Atkinson Accreditation Reaffirmed

by Rob Vaughn,

The Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education. Less than half of all business management schools in the U.S. and less than 10% of business management schools worldwide hold AACSB accreditation. Today, there are 1,400 business schools in 90 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. AACSB's mission is to advance quality management education worldwide through accreditation, thought leadership, and value-added services. AACSB's global headquarters is located in Tampa, Florida, USA and its Asia Pacific headquarters is located in Singapore.

“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students."
“We are delighted to have our accreditation with AACSB International reaffirmed," said Debra Ringold, Dean and JELD-WEN Professor of Free Enterprise. “Our staff and faculty work hard to continuously deliver outstanding management education for our students. The AACSB represents the highest standards of management education and we're very proud to be among the best.”

The full-time format of the Willamette University MBA is also accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (also known as NASPAA). As one of only two MBA programs in the world to achieve dual accreditation in both Business and Public Administration, Willamette provides the rare benefit of professional recognition and respect in all sectors.
