About Us
BSU is more of a come as you please type space. There are no specific requirements to be a part of our organization. We do not keep an active count of our members, however we do have about 30 people on average attend our meetings. Our meetings are once a week and a little over an hour in length. BSU constantly strives to accommodate to the needs of black community on campus. As a result BSU focuses on social justice issues and educating both the Willamette and Salem community about the many struggles that revolve around being an African American. We also focus on putting on events that encourage community building and just plain old having a good time.
The Black Student Union is always trying to find ways to improve and better encompass the black community, therefore if you have any ideas on how you feel that BSU can improve please feel free to e-mail any of the executive board members with suggestions.
