Oregon School for the Blind

As Delta Gamma's, we are known for our dedication to our philanthropy, Service for Sight. Here at Willamette, we are fortunate to have the Oregon School for the Blind so close to campus. This allows us to not only raise funds through activities such as Anchor Splash, but to personally interact with the students at OSB. Over the course of the school year, we participate in many activities with the students, from swimming, to craft activities, hosting Thanksgiving dinner, and helping with their prom.

The Mission of the Oregon School for the Blind is to provide a model learning environment for students who are blind/visually impaired so that they can achieve educational success and become lifelong learners.

This is achieved by:

* Developing and delivering a full range of flexible program options designed to meet the needs of students who are blind/visually impaired, including those with other disabilities, in a school-based program,
* Providing educational services and outreach support to all students who are blind/visually impaired, their families, and the staff who serve them throughout the state of Oregon, and
* Focusing the resources of educational, community, parental, and consumer groups to maximize student achievement and to work toward the goal of all students living and working as independently as possible.
