Welcome to Delta Tau Delta! (Richard - 10.6.2008)
Whoa whoa whoa, it's been a while. Since our last update, we have become brothers of
Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity. After nearly two years of applications, hoop-jumping, and petitioning, the Epsilon Theta colony was officially founded in April of 2008. Yee!
Okay, the rest of this is going in bullet form.
- The update:
- We have a concert coming up on October 23.
ShouldWill be a great show. - The Home Teen Shelter in Salem has become a focal point of our philanthropic and service efforts. Home provides a safe, fun environment for homeless teens, off the street and out of the weather.
- Stay tuned for an afternoon of bocce and barbecue in Bush Park this month, weather permitting.
- A bunch of us are abroad right now.
- The most valuable part of Delta Tau Delta is its members. If you're interested in becoming a founding member of Delta Tau Delta's chapter (installation's scheduled for January) e-mail Evan at eturner@willamette.edu.
Here's a picture of our pin in the middle of a square.
Up and Coming (Richard - 11.13.2007)
Hey!
The Delts Colonization Team is turning its eyes to colonization. We'll be applying to become a Delta Tau Delta Cresent in March 2008 (which, believe it or not, is just a few months away.) For more about the colonization process, check out this page from the official Delta Tau Delta site.
In keeping with our commitment to community service, we now have a regular schedule with the Union Gospel Mission on Commercial and Center. The UGM is a multi-faceted organization, which means we do everything from food distribution to retail to data entry. If you'd like to find out more about the UGM and how you can get involved, contact Aram (akrueger@willamette.edu), the Delts philanthropy chair.
That's about it. Stay tuned as the Willamette Delts move closer to colonization, and look forward to seeing more events on campus. For more on the colonization and how you can help, contact me at rdesamla@willamette.edu.
Bands Rock the Cat Cavern (Joe - 10.28.2007)

The concert went off without a hitch. Whatever it may have lacked in hitches, however, it more than made up for with being awesome and fun.
Lauren gets our thanks for bringing a camera and taking photos of the goings-on. The bands get our thanks for bringing the rock and taking us to dance-sylvania. They can be heard on the internet!
- In order of appearance:
- The Fresh Standard
- Quirk Monarch
- Omegatone
- 999-KRA!
Welcome! (Richard - 10.23.2007)
Hey everybody. Thanks for coming. I'm Richard, the president of the Interest Group. As you can see, our website is up now. We'll be putting up new events and news related to the Delts Colonization every so often, so don't be a stranger.
This week's installment:
It's GREEK WEEK here at our college, and the Delts won't be left out. On Wednesday (October 24), we're having an information session in the Montag Den. Show up at 6:00 to find out more about what the Delts are up to, what it means for campus, and how you can get involved. Of course, this event is open to anybody who wants to know more, even if you're not thinking of joining up (though you should, srsly). There won't be any food, but you can bring some if you like. Snacks or no, it's a good chance to find out more about how you can start something new here at Willamette.
Now, don't think for a second we're all work and no play. On Friday, the Delts are throwing a concert in the Cat Cavern. 999-KRA! rocked Wulapalooza last year, and they're going to be feeding us more electrokrunk rhymes at 8:30 PM. Other acts include Omegatone, The Fresh Standard, and Quirk Monarch. Also, the show is free (FREE) with your student ID, so you might as well show up. Lenny Kravitz might be there; we haven't heard back yet.
That's about all for now. If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me at rdesamla@willamette.edu.
New site (Joe - 10.14.2007)
This is our new website that we have made. There isn't much on it yet, but the sections are all done.
If you're looking to learn about us, check out the "About" page. In a future update, Richard is going to add the actual events that are coming up (that'll be here.) The members page just has our names on it and what we do (for now). You should probably join so we can put your name on it. The activities page is similarly lacking. Pretty much it just says talk to Aram since he is our Philanthropy Chair. The "Contact Us" page is pretty self-explanatory.
In other news, here is a picture of the room that Liam, Richard, and I lived in last year.
