Historic “third wave” begins

To volunteer for Haunted Halls 2008, please e-mail volunteer committee chairs Carolyn Cava and Aaron Bilbao with your name and room number. Thanks for your contribution to the community!

More info:

Hey Willamette! Next week is Halloween, and you might know what that means. Parties, candy, and the coolest event on Willamette's entire campus, Haunted Halls!

And what is Haunted Halls, you may ask? It's a fabulous opportunity Willamette provides for local elementary school students to safely trick-or-treat on Halloween afternoon, and enjoy a carnival and haunted house. Many of the kids who live around Willamette can't go out in their own neighborhoods, so Willamette students volunteer to give them a happy Halloween experience.

We want you to be one of those volunteers. You can get involved 3 different ways:

--> The easiest is simply to stay in your room and give kids candy when they knock. We'll even give you the candy! All you have to do is stay put between 5 and 7 pm on Halloween afternoon, and make hundreds of kids happy.

--> We need guides to lead the kids around on their trick-or-treat routes, preferably in costume. An enthusiastic guide can make the kids' experience even better, and who doesn't love leading kids to candy?

--> We need carnival workers. After the kids finish trick-or-treating, they go upstairs to a massive carnival in Cat Cavern, where they play games and get even more candy. Lucky them!

To volunteer for any of these positions, please e-mail Carolyn Cava at CCava@willamette.edu with your name and room number. Or, talk to your hall's HHR representative!
