いらっしゃい!

The members of JSSL would like to recognize Kazue Saito, the Japanese Language Assistant, for all her hard work and dedication to JSSL and the Japanese Department for the past two years.  We will miss you, Kazue!!

Welcome to Japan Studies Student Leaders [JSSL, or in Japanese: 日本研究学生リーダー会 (Nihon Kenkyuu Gakusei Riidaa Kai)]! We are an organization open to all students interested in Japan, with the purpose of organizing engaging academic activities centered around Japanese culture, society, and language for the Willamette, American Studies Program (ASP), and Salem communities. JSSL creates a sense of community among members by ensuring that every member has a say and can participate in all events. We expand our educational interests with the support of the Japanese and Chinese Studies Departments, the Center for Asian Studies, and ASP, acting as a resource for Willamette students to broaden their understanding of Japan and the connections between Japan, the US, and the world.
