      1. Who/What is JSSL
        1. Stands for Japan Studies Student Leaders
        2. 日本研究学生リーダ会 (Nihon Kenkyuu Gakusei Riidaakai)
        3. JSSL is an organization that provides educational and social support for those interested in the Japanese language and helps foster better international relations within the Willamette, TIUA, and Salem communities.  Everyone in this club is a LEADER!
        4. Club dues: Annual fee of $5 (T-shirt and other activities)
      1. What do we do?
        1. Hold various activities dealing with Japanese culture such as movie/game/origami nights, cooking nights, language table, dance performances and field trips to Uwajimaya
        2. Events are a good way to learn about Japanese culture and to get to know other Willamette and ASP students.

      3. Howard Street Charter School (Middle School) After-School Japanese Language Program
      • Teach Japanese 10~15 middle school students (no Japanese background) with ASP students.
      • Two ASP students and one or two WU students are going to team teach.
      • Once a week (Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday)
      • Class time: 3:30pm to 4:30pm
      • Up to 9 weeks (starting the week of September 17 and ending before Thanksgiving)
      • Transportation (TIUA van) is provided
