7pmThe Real Thanksgiving: Reclaiming our Voices
Cat Cavern (located on the 2nd floor of Willamette's University Center)
This event will feature drumming and music followed by an open mic. We would like to invite students involved in your office to come prepared with songs, stories, poems, or thoughts, based on the theme of "The Real Thanksgiving: Reclaiming our Voices". This is open to interpretation to the students but our immediate thoughts go to invisibalization, commoditization, co-option of culture, erasure of history, etc. We really want this to be a space for students to be able to speak their minds and hearts.
