For the fall semester of 2004, we worked hard to gain support for President Bush. (I think we all know how that turned out :) ) October 15, 2004 - The Willamette Republicans tabled during dining hours, providing a contrast to the soon-to-be-visiting Michael Moore. The event was covered by The Statesman Journal and was published in the Sunday edition of October 17, the day before Michael Moore visited. Check out the story - http://news.statesmanjournal.com/article.cfm?i=88436 . November 12, 2004 - Seven Willamette Republicans traveled down to the Young American Leadership Convention. More than 800 conservatives met in Santa Barbara to celebrate and encourage conservative leadership. We were lucky enough to be in the company of such speakers as Dr. Laura, Congressman Jim Rogan, and Governor Tim Pawlenty. Check out the pictures here. September 11th, 2006 - The Willamette Republicans held a candlelight vigil to remember those that lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93. Check out the pictures here. November 10th, 2006 - Five members of the Willamette Republicans attended the Young American Leadership Convention in Santa Barbara. Browse the pictures here. March 1st, 2007 - College Republicans sponsored conservative speaker Deroy Murdock to give a talk entitled "Blacks, Liberals, and Conservatives: How liberal policies are dangerous for African Americans." September 11th, 2007 - College Republicans continued the tradition of holding a candlelight vigil in front of Smith Auditorium to honor the victims of the September 11th attacks. November 8th, 2007 - Four students from Willamette Republicans trekked down to Santa Barbara for the annual Young American Leadership Convention. Pictures coming soon! November 11th, 2007 - College Republicans commemorated Veterans' Day by chalking messages of support, remembrance, and respect to remember the millions of veterans who have served and are serving in the United States Armed Forces.
