Willamette Students for Choice
What is the purpose of Students for Choice?
The purpose of Students for Choice is to raise awareness and promote activism about reproductive
rights, freedoms, and issues.
Who are Students for Choice?
Students for Choice are concerned women and men at Willamette who want to protect and advance
reproductive freedoms and choices.
What does Students for Choice do?
We work with community, state, and national organizations such as Choice USA and the
National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL) in promoting reproductive freedoms
and awareness. We volunteer as clinic escorts at clinics that are experiencing intimidation
and harrassment from protesters, and we also lobby politicians urging them to protect reproductive
freedoms.
Why should I join?
Reproductive rights and freedoms are increasingly coming under attack and being severely limited
by anti-choice legislatures and politicians in every level of government and by right-wing
religious groups. The election of George W. Bush and his Supreme Court appointments pose a grave
danger to maintaining reproductive freedoms and keeping abortion safe, legal, and rare. By joining
Students for Choice you will be actively involved in the struggle to protect reproductive
freedoms and the rights of women.
Where and when does Students for Choice have its meetings?
We meet on Mondays at 7:00 PM in the Women's Center which is on the third floor of the Putnam
University Center. Click here to
see the location of the Putnam University Center on the campus map. It is the red building in the
middle of the map.
