CLUB CONCEPTS
Taiko is a drum in Japanese traditional cultures. Through a different cultural experience, Willamette Taiko Club was established in Fall, 1998 as an club organization at Willamette University for the purpose of sharing diverse cultural experiences with WU and Japanese students each other. At the same time, the activities of Taiko club also remind the Japanese who haven't recognize own culture as a "mirror of own culture." Through the activity, Taiko members not only make valuable friendships each other, but also contribute their perfomance to a place wherever people like to listen our "heart." We raise WU profiles in the greater Salem and Oregon community, and improve multicultural understanding by performing at various outside events. The sound of Taiko inspires "primitive feeling" to people...
