Annual Events
2007-2008 Chair: Matt Alex
The Annual Events committee is responsible for putting on Black Tie, the university's formal dance. For this, the people in the committee will discuss such things as transportation, decoration, band/dj, which charity the money from tickets goes to, etc. The committee is also in charge of midnight breakfast which usually happens before the week of finals. It is a breakfast (free to students), starting at 9pm, to get together, eat together and spend some time before the stress of finals really kick in. Basically what the committee does is talk to management at Goudy, do set-up, and clean-up.
Campus Events 2007-2008 Chair: Ali Perez
The campus events chair is responsible for bringing the
major performers to campus such as the magicians, mentalists, comedians,
etc. The Campus Events chair also is in charge of such things as Willamette
Idol and other campus wide programming such as Assassins.
Film Productions 2007-2008 Chair: Tony Zezas
The Film Committee coordinates bi-monthly movies in Smith, which includes ushering, counting, and publicizing. They also put on the outdoor movie on Brown Field and other film events. They help publicize for these events and assist other committees when needed.
Issues & Controversies 2007-2008 Chair: Beyza Yavuz
The issues and controversies committee is responsible for coordinating lectures, speakers, games, and activities which pertain to a wide array of controversial issues and topics that affect the Willamette Community. Their goal is to provide a neutral perspective of several topics that enhance and make use of the social and educational programs at Willamette.
Music Productions 2007-2008 Chair: Joe Gruber
The music productions committee is responsible for selecting a diverse range of both local and national musical acts to perform for the Willamette Community, as well as coordinating Open-Mic nights and other forms of music entertainment.
Publicity 2007-2008 Chairs: Chelsea McLennan and Jazmyn Li
The publicity committee is responsible for assisting all committees with aspects of publicity and advertising. They are also responsible for developing unique and effective publicity campaigns, and are involved in graphic, paper, email, and poster design. Additionally, it is their responsibility to increase the salience and name-recognition of WEB throughout the Willamette Community.
Random Fun 2007-2008 Chair: Daniel Carroll
The random fun committee is responsible for providing the Willamette Community with unique and alternative forms of entertainment which include, but are not limited to, physical and outdoor activities, games, parties, and other forms of entertainment.
