About
WHAT IS WULAPALOOZA?
Wulapalooza is an annual urban earth, art and music festival that takes place on the
campus of Willamette University. Local schools, performance groups, and professional
bands perform for over a thousand students and community members annually with local
businesses and student groups fundraising for various charitable organizations. We are an
Earth Day and community festival that yearly brings in thousands of community
members and students. The 11th annual Wulapalooza festival will be held April 25th, 2009.
WHAT ARE WULAPALOOZA’S GOALS?
Each year, Wulapalooza selects a local charitable foundation or group to fundraise for. In
the past, we have fundraised for local schools and various other local groups.
Additionally, the goal of the festival is ultimately to provide a venue for the community
to mesh with Willamette’s campus, familiarize itself with student organizations, and
ultimately be our guests for a day of music, art, and entertainment that benefits a
charitable cause.
WHAT ORGANIZATION IS WULAPALOOZA SPONSORING?
Currently, Wulapalooza supports the Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School. Any monetary dontations received either at the festival or online goes towards our sponsored group.
WHAT DOES ADMISSION COST?
Admission to Wulapalooza is completely free to both students and the community with a suggested donation for our charitable foundation. The festival does require a substantial amount of funding, a majority of which is provided by Willamette University student organization funding and the Associated Students(ASWU). In addition, we continue to seek community support. Wulapalooza is, after all, the celebration of the intertwining of Willamette’s campus with the community.
