Overview of Programs
For Working Professionals Like You
The Center for Excellence in Teaching within the Willamette University of Education offers two NDEL programs. The Initial Administrative License Program can ready you to fully enter the dynamic arena of school administration. Our advanced, or Continuing Administrative License Program can significantly enhance your career in educational administration and also paves the way for you to pursue superintendent licensure.
Initial Administrative License (IAL) Program

Compact, Focused
Beginning in July and ending 11 months later in May, the compact and focused program gives you time to find a position for the new academic year. -
Convenient
The schedule - Monday evenings, at least one Saturday per month and an intensive summer session which includes the beginning of the practicum experience - ensures that working educators like you have both the time and the energy you need to do your job and complete your preparation for administrative licensure. On-site meals are an option for convenience during the academic year. -
Centrally-located
Classes are held at Willamette University, located in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Salem, Oregon.
Continuing Administrative License (CAL) Program

The schedule for the Continuing Administrative License/CAL Program varies according to instructor and candidate need. [Pre-registration for this term] -
Non-cohort Model
The 11 courses of the program (totaling 26 quarter hours of credit) can be taken in the order and speed a candidate desires, keeping in mind any license deadlines. -
Centrally-located
These courses are usually held at Willamette University in downtown Salem.
